Monte’ L. Demars is a native of Natchitoches, Louisiana, and the father of four adorable children: Charisma, Katelyn, Monte’ II, and Destine. He is married to a beautiful Shreveport native, Sharonda Johnson Demars.


Mr. Demars graduated from Northwestern State University with a bachelor’s degree in Language and Communications, master’s degree from Louisiana College, and is currently working on his doctorate degree in Leadership Studies with a concentration on Educational Leadership.


He has always known that becoming an educator was his purpose in life; and has diligently worked to climb the career ladder from being a long-term substitute teacher, school bus driver, and paraprofessional, until he decided to return to college and pursue his dream of being an innovative educator and Educational Leader.


Mr. Demars has worked extensively throughout his tenure. He is the founder of Young Men of Excellence, a male mentoring program that mentors at-risk youth by teaching them basic principles of living purpose-driven lives. He also worked as an instructor for Save-Our-Children program, an alternative education program that worked with the local judicial system to assist students with modifying inappropriate behavior.


Mr. Demars’ desire is to use his passion for education to empower others and effect positive change in the lives of those whom he has been given the opportunity to impact. Over the past two decades, he has touched the lives of many young people, and began his administrative career as assistant principal of Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy in Shreveport, Louisiana where he worked as a Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) administrator. In this capacity he enjoyed mentoring teachers by modeling best practices and using researched-based instructional strategies to prompt intellectual engagement in the minds of students.


Mr. Demars has been trained in the Data Teams Process, Whole-Brain Teaching Strategies, Kagan Structures, and has presented district-wide professional developments on “Effective Classroom Management”.


His most recent assignment was assistant principal of Woodlawn Leadership Academy where he worked with teachers to improve instructional practices by modeling lessons, implementing weekly planning sessions for the English department, and providing professional learning opportunities.


Mr. Demars feels that it is an honor to be named principal of Caddo Middle Career and Technology Leadership Academy.
